The nstituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte invited Mazatlan children to compete for a prize of 29 thousand pesos that will be distributed among the first three places of the Great Children’s Dance of Carnaval Internacional de Mazatlán 2024 to be held on Monday, February 12th at 10:00 a.m.
At a press conference, the Queen of Poetry, Ivanna Arámburo, announced the details of the call for the Children’s Dance and invited boys and girls to participate in this fun event that takes place every year on Carnaval Monday.
The deadline to register is February 9th; All boys and girls, between 4 and 10 years of age, will be able to participate in the Children’s Dance costume contest. The First Place winner will receive 12 thousand pesos as a prize; 10 thousand pesos for second place and there will be 7 thousand pesos for third place.
During the event, three categories will be taken into account: individual participation, couples and troup, in three modalities: fantasy, costume and dance.
Fantasy.- Any costume made with sequins, beads, glitter or embroidery alluding to Carnaval.
Costume.- It will be any costume that simply represents a character or theme.
Dance.- It will be the interpretation of any choreography.
Registration will be open as of this Friday, September 1st and can be made by parents, guardians or representatives of the contestant at the offices of the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán located at Av. Miguel Alemán #203, between Heriberto streets Frias and Belisario Dominguez. Registration hours will be from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm or by calling 669 982 4444 ext. 108. Contestants may participate in only one category and modality.
In the individual and couple contest there will be separate awards for fantasy, costume and dance.
In the comparsas contest there will be no distinction between fantasy, costume and dance, awarding a single prize for each of the groups.
The contestants will have the registration deadline on February 9th, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. in the offices of CULTURA.
The registration fee must be paid when registering as a contestant, which will be $100.00 (ONE HUNDRED PESOS 00/100 M.N.) per participant.
General Admission $100.00 (ONE HUNDRED PESOS 00/100M.N.), children under 4 years old will not pay admission.
All costumes that have participated in official Carnaval events or in floats this year or previous years will be excluded from the contest.
For the award, the Jury will take into account the originality, beauty, elaboration and brilliance of the costumes, as well as the ease of the contestant.
