Banda La Adictiva celebrated its 35th anniversary with a spectacular concert that managed to bring together thousands of fans, Mazatlan families and national and international tourists in Olas Altas.

The lights went off on the ground and turned on in the air, synchronized drones announced the 35th Anniversary of La Adictiva, a 180° degree screen surrounded the stage and projected the arrival of a bus from the desert. A loud explosion and long vertical flames of fire gave the signal for the screen to slowly rise and the musical notes of the first song of the night, “El Viejón,” to begin to sound, and so all the members of La Adictiva appeared to continue playing Sinaloan music.

“El Amor de Mi vida” and “Lo que Nunca Será” drew sighs from hundreds of lovers. “La Cuichi” and a medley that included “Por esa Calle Vive,” “La Ley del Monte,” and “Puño de Tierra” got the audience dancing at the celebration of the 35th anniversary of La Adictiva, on Carnaval Monday night in Olas Altas.

The first special moment of the night was the presentation of the Sinaloa Pride award by the President of the Sinaloa DIF System, Eneyda Rocha Ruiz, representing the State Governor, along with the Municipal President, Estrella Palacios, the State Secretary of Tourism, Mireya Sosa Osuna and Óscar Zamudio Pérez, municipal president of Concordia.

Andrés Valdés upon receiving the award said: It is an honor to receive this award, it is given to me, but it is for each one of the people who work in this company and we thank the great team of Cultura, Tourism, the people of the Municipality, Estrella. We are very excited to be celebrating 35 years here in our land, Mazatlán.

A folkloric ballet, fireworks and the composition of José Alfredo Jiménez that fills the people of Mazatlán with pride was the special seal of the moment.

The music continued with the best of La Adictiva, which had moments to show off the individual talent of each of its musicians. The second moment of the night was the traditional “Mañanitas” sung especially for Estrella Palacios, Mayor of Mazatlán, who was excited and touched to receive this special surprise on her birthday.

“Mi Gusto es” and a medley with Guacamaya-Vaquilla and Toro Viejo were the final songs, and a spectacular closing with drones suspended in the air by Olas Altas were signs of continuity in the artistic career of the band La Adictiva and the Mazatlán Carnavals.
