Ximena I is crowned Queen of Poetry

Tonight the Teodoro Mariscal stadium was dressed in gala and emotion with the sweet presence of Ángela Salazar Irigoyen and Ximena Lizárraga Correa who were crowned as Children’s Queen and Queen of Poetry of Mazatlán International Carnaval 2025 “La Perla”, respectively.

From early hours, the atmosphere was filled with expectation, with families, friends and visitors eager to witness this historic moment. The stage became the epicenter of Carnaval joy.

Angela I: A Reign of Tenderness and Joy

Angela, with her radiant smile and charisma, conquered the hearts of the people of Mazatlán and on the night of her coronation she shed tears of happiness. The Children’s Queen received the crown from the President of the Sinaloa DIF System, Eneyda Rocha Ruiz, who went up on stage representing the Governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, while the President of Mazatlán, Estrella Palacios Domínguez crowned Ximena I as Queen of Poetry.

Angela I wore a majestic aqua green dress, a creation of the talented Luis Antonio Ríos, who also made it. The garment was exquisitely embroidered with beads, pearls and seed beads, which gave it a special shine. The design evoked the freshness of the sea and the delicacy of a pearl, in tune with the theme of Carnaval.

Her coronation was a magical moment, full of tenderness and applause, marking the beginning of a reign that promises to be full of joy and fun.

Ximena Lizárraga: The Queen of Poetry

Ximena Lizárraga, for her part, was crowned as the Queen of Poetry by the mayor of Mazatlán, Estrella Palacios Domínguez.

Ximena I, radiated elegance with a dress designed and made by Luis Antonio Ríos, the dress in blue and red tones also embroidered with small pearls that highlighted her figure and grace. Both dresses were a display of creativity and good taste, worthy of such a special night.

The enthronement of the child Queens was accompanied by dancers from the Vilanova Academy and guests, directed by Montserrat Millán.

During the ceremony, Paulina Carrillo Collard and Siu Ling Audelo Chio received recognition and applause from the public for celebrating 50 years and 25 years of children’s reign, respectively.

Alejandro Sanz’s concert

The coronation was accompanied by a show full of music, with the stellar performance of the Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz who performed some songs from his extensive repertoire, hits such as: No es lo mismo, Lo que fui es lo que soy, Quisiera ser, Cuando nadie me ve and Corazón partío, the latter a duet with Edén Muñoz. The songs were liked by the public who applauded and sang along to all the songs of the international artist.
