On a night full of magic and surprises, the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium witnessed the coronation of Brayan I, King of Joy of the Mazatlán International Carnaval 2025, “La Perla” who became the protagonist of an unforgettable evening.

With a navy blue suit and golden tones that emitted flashes of light, Brayan I looked like an authentic buccaneer, with a sword instead of a staff, ready to conquer the heart of the city.

Accompanied by the Prince of Carnaval, Sergio Osuna and the Marquis, Roberto Sedano, Brayan I began his reign with a night full of emotion, color, music, dance and tradition. The three wore elegant fantasy outfits inspired by the image of brave corsairs designed by Luis Antonio Ríos “Momo”.

That night the public enjoyed exciting pirate stories where “La Perla” was the protagonist with more than 100 artists on stage, including dancers from the Folkloric Ballet of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan and the Astros Dance Center Academy, all directed by choreographer Maestro Javier Arcadia.

The coronation by the Mazatlán Institute of Culture offered a choreographic entertainment set around an imaginary festive celebration of drunken corsairs who capture precious treasures, gold, porcelain jewels and even “the pearl of the virgin” in their adventures, and find in Mazatlán, the ideal setting to develop some adventures.

During the ceremony, His Majesty Héctor Limón, King of Joy of Carnival 2024, said goodbye to his reign with a message of thanks to those who, over the course of a year, joined his real story.

In an exciting moment, Brayan I received from Lucero I, Queen of the Mazatlán International Carnival 2025, her royal attributes and a sword, symbolizing his role as a brave and powerful monarch. As soon as he was crowned, the sky lit up with an impressive fireworks display, announcing to Mazatlán and the world that the six-day carnival cycle of fun and joy has begun.

The 90’s Pop Tour concert, with artists from groups such as Magneto, Caló, JNS, Kabah, Mercurio and El Circulo, got everyone dancing with rhythm and energy. The melancholic songs and hits of the time were the sensation of the night. Some of the songs that were performed included “The Street of Sirens”, “Changing Destiny”, “Formas de amor”, “Para siempre”, “Malherido”, “Vuela, vuela”, “Explota corazón”, “Solo vivo para ti”, “Entre azul y buenas noches”, among others that were sung and danced by thousands of spectators.
