For the first time in 121 editions of Carnaval internacional Mazatlan 2020 “Somos América, Pasión, Alegría y Esperanza”, people with special abilities and older adults will have an exclusive float to participate in the grand parades, which is why they are excited and looking forward to the ultimate fiesta of the port.

Gabriela Peña Chico, President of the Mazatlan DIF System, visited the Costume Workshop of the Municipal Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte, where she met a group of people who were measured for the costumes they will wear during February 20-25.

“It is very important for us, for DIF Mazatlan, for people with different abilities, for older adults, because this year we have a float alluding to inclusion, that makes us very happy, we are moving forward. Inclusion is the formula and Mazatlan and Carnaval is for everyone, so we all have the same right to enjoy it and participate, it is something they had asked us, they wanted to see an inclusive Carnaval reflected and with this we are super happy,” he said.

The First Lady of Mazatlan also thanked José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, in charge of the Office of the General Directorate of the Instituto de Cultura, for having this initiative, which reflects that in the administration headed by the mayor Quimico Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, all citizens receive cordial treatment, first class services and inclusion in every way is promoted.

He said that the participants feel happy and motivated about opportunity to choose the costumes, garments that they will wear with passion, joy and hope during the great events.
