The Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán carried out a casting to select the extras that will parade characterized according to the theme of the floats, on Sunday and Tuesday of Carnaval.
More than 200 people including girls, boys, adolescents and adults responded to the call launched by Cultura and attended the casting held last Saturday at the Music Museum of the Municipal Arts Center.
The participants formed a long line that began on Constitución street and extended to the main entrance of the Ángela Peralta Theater.
On this occasion the casting judges were the choreographer Montserrat Millán, Abris Tiznado, Queen of Carnaval of 1996; Lory Lizárraga, Carnaval Queen of 2014; and Alma Barajas, from the parade area of the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán.
Those in charge of the casting highlighted the interest and enthusiasm of young people and children, for being part of the artistic cast that will go aboard the floats during the parades of Carnaval Internacional Mazatlán 2023 “Déjà vu…. 125 años de tradición”.
During the casting, each participant danced a random piece of music to the rhythm of reggaeton, salsa, banda, cumbias, electronics, and others.
The committee will have to choose a maximum of 120 people, including children, adolescents and adults, who will be distributed among the 33 floats that will participate in the parades.
It will be from Monday, January 23 when they notify those selected, since the next step is the preparation of the costumes to be used on February 19 and 21 in “Déjà vu… 125 years of tradition”.
