With a majestic dress and charming presence, Lucero Lizárraga enters the history of the Mazatlán Carnavals as S.G.M Lucero I, crowned by Eneyda Rocha Ruiz, president of the DIF Sinaloa system, and the Mayor of Mazatlán, Estrella Palacios Domínguez.
Lucero I was accompanied by her princesses Grecia, Samantha, Marina, Mariant and Evelyn, the coronation was celebrated with a spectacular sequence of fireworks and a shower of confetti to the rhythm of the song “Soy de Mazatlán” performed by Banda MS and Mazatlan tenor Carlos Osuna.

“La Perla” a marine element and theme of Carnaval, traveled from the depths of the Pacific Ocean across the Sea of ​​Cortez, to reach where the waves rumble and the best sunsets in the world exist, Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

“La Perla” made its journey through the seas accompanied by mermaids and tritons who gallantly guarded the most vaunted treasure of the ocean, the crown that was destined for Lucero I.

In this ceremony, sovereign Pamela Farriols López was also honored, bearer for 25 years of the most significant crown in the most emblematic culture of the port, Carnaval. Mrs. Libia Zulema López Montemayor received this recognition surrounded by the affection and memory of the Mazatlecans.

Yolanda de Rueda Alatorre received a posthumous tribute for the 50 years of her reign as Yolanda I. Her children, Ana Elena and Salvador Mier de Rueda received the appreciated recognition.

The artistic and choreographic direction for the tributes and the crowning of the queens was by Montserrat Millán, the coordination of the guest dancers was done by Carlos Coronel and the musicalization by Fabricio Valdez, Monica Millán was the rehearsal director and coordinator of the Mazatlán dancers.

Dancers from Vilanova, Centro de Iniciación Artística 00 and guests and fire jugglers were the interpreters of the fascinating choreographies.
