Being a candidate for Carnaval Queen is a dream that had a date, not an expiration date, it was a dream that I wanted to achieve and here we are with all the preparation, with all the desire in the world, says Mariant Franco.
The candidate of the black banner for Queen of the Mazatlán International Carnaval 2025 “La Perla”, shares that since last year she had the intention of participating, but for personal reasons she did not do so.
“It was January, I felt a hunch, and I said, this is it and I started preparing from the first month, I felt it and that brought me here, that hunch.”
What are you preparing for and how long have you been preparing for it?
“I have catwalk classes, oratory, I started preparing myself in June, and something very important I am mentally preparing myself for.”
What do you do?
“I am currently studying a degree in International Trade, I just finished the fifth semester, I am already leaving. I am also a singer, I study lyrical singing with private teachers.”
The candidate of the negra banner likes to read and among her favorite readings is the book “Love Letter to the Dead” by Ava Dellaira.
What does Carnaval mean to you?
“It is what gives us a sense of identity to the people of Mazatlán. It is many things, it is joy, the union that we have as a port, it is a beautiful thing, I love what it means, the feeling of the party, of having something in common and that each year we continue like this.”
How do you see yourself on the day of the contest?
“Happy, satisfied, ready to play the best role, always focusing on being better than when I started.”
What is your strength in this competition?
“I am very perseverant, I think I focus a lot on myself, we all shine in a different way, in a beautiful way, and that can help me a lot.”
