“All my life I have loved Carnaval, I always dreamed of being part of the great fiesta, some time ago I visualized myself participating as a queen, my age did not allow it but today I feel ready to do a very good job and take the crown if God wants,” says Sandra Tirado, candidate of the silver banner for Queen of the Mazatlán International Carnaval 2025.
The 24-year-old who reviews “The Language of the Body” by Allan Pease among her readings, is proud to have lived in Mazatlán for a long time, although she was born in Mexico City.
At what point did you decide to compete?
“I have wanted to try it for a long time, I don’t know what was stopping me, but when the call came out this year, I said, I have to try it if I want things to happen, and for magic to be part of this, I have to be there.
What does Carnaval mean to you?
“For me it is an extremely impressive party, a party that is very dear to all of us who are from here, but also to people from other cities. I hear many comments from people outside our Port and their eyes shine when they talk about Carnaval. I consider it to be a very valuable fiesta that shows our traditions, that brings out our people.”
How long have you been preparing for this contest, and what are you specializing in?
“For a year I mentally prepared myself to feel centered for this, and later I started with oratory classes, catwalk classes, there are several things that we must take into account and that is where I am starting.”
What is your strength for election day?
“I think I am very persevering, I have a lot of empathy with all situations, I think that my strength can be to understand many things that happen, not to get hung up on things that will happen, but one does not know what can happen, I am also a person with a lot of character.”
How do you see yourself on election day?
“I see myself with everything I learned in this process, with growth, and I consider myself ready to do a good job and that the result has to be what it has to be, but very satisfied with what I did on stage.”
What do you do?
“Currently I have a family foundation and we launched a dehydrated mango snack on the market, the project was born in Aguacaliente de Gárate, Concordia, and we are currently beginning to expand it in Sinaloa and the Mexican Republic.
