Mazatlán International Carnaval 2025, “La Perla”, took place on Friday afternoon in the streets of Mazatlán with an explosion of color, music and joy.
During the Carnaval demonstration, the streets of Mazatlán were painted with the green, blue, silver, yellow, orange, pink, purple, gold and red colors used by the participants’ cheering groups, creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere. The participation of regional music bands and the dance groups of the academies: Escénico Ferrer, Latin Jazz and the Chanel Dance Academy, accentuated the joyful and lively touch characteristic of the biggest port fiesta.
The parade in the streets caught the eyes of thousands of people who, on board vehicles or from a sidewalk, took photographs and videos and greeted the current sovereigns of Carnaval and those who aspire to succeed them on the throne.
The joyful caravan left from Av. Leonismo Internacional, went down Av. Ejército Mexicano, reached Gral. Ángel Flores Street, Aquiles Serdán, Av. Miguel Alemán until reaching Olas Altas and turning onto Gral. Ángel Flores Street to end at Plazuela República.
Along the route, the court of Mazatlán Carnaval 2024, headed by Carolina Ruelas, Carnaval Queen; Siu Ling Cotero, Queen of the Floral Games; Héctor Limón, King of Joy; María Paula Velarde, Children’s Queen and Givanna Valdez, Queen of Poetry, greeted and smiled at the spectators who cheered them from the sidewalks.
The candidates for Queens of the Mazatlán Carnaval 2025, accompanied by their colorful cheerleaders, also participated in the demonstration, showing their enthusiasm and energy. They waved gracefully from their ingeniously decorated vehicles: Lesly Acosta, Mariana Valverde, Samantha Godoy, Sandra Tirado, Mariant Franco, Grecia Rodríguez, Fernanda Lizbeth Velasco, Desiré Velázquez,
Lucero Lizárraga, María Fernanda Ramírez, Evelyn Pineda and Melissa Cuevas.
The children’s candidates, Ángela Salazar and Ximena Lizárraga, and the candidates for King of Joy, Bryan Gamboa, Roberto Castro and Sergio Osuna, joined the Carnaval troupe, infected by the enthusiasm of their respective cheerleaders who handed out souvenirs along the way.
The party concluded in the Plazuela República with a joyful musical celebration by the group One Play. The music aroused feelings of joy and invited people to dance.
Before joining the party, candidates and current sovereigns were received in City Hall by the Mayor of Mazatlán, Estrella Palacios Domínguez, who gave them a message of motivation and invited them to enjoy the Carnaval.
The excited mayor welcomed all the candidates and greeted Carolina, Siu Ling, María Paula and Givanna, current members of the royal court.
Enjoy each demonstration, may your election be memorable, you are all winners because you will be part of the history of our Carnaval that represents our traditions, our color and the joy of the people, she told them.
Estrella Palacios highlighted that Mazatlán Carnaval is recognized worldwide and the queens have the opportunity to be tourist ambassadors.
In turn, Raúl Rico González, General Director of CULTURA, thanked the court and those who aspire to win the next reigns, because their spirit when participating is contagious and their joy is forming the personality of Carnaval.
After the speeches, the official photo was taken and accompanied by the mayor, candidates and queens went out to the presidential balcony to greet hundreds of people who enjoyed the “La Perla” fiesta in Plazuela República.
