Around 140 people of all ages showed interest and auditioned, seeking to be part of the crew of the floats that will participate in the great parades of the Carnaval Internacional Mazatlán 2024.

To the sound of modern rhythms, salsa, cumbia, and other musical genres, boys, girls, teenagers and adults, put out their best steps in search of capturing the attention of the jury made up of Alma Barajas, with experience in coordinating the parade; Lory Lizárraga, Queen of Carnaval Mazatlán of 2014; Abris Tiznado, Director of Public Relations of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán and Fabricio Valdez, Coordinator of dance teams.

From an early hour, participants and parents arrived at the Music Museum in search of a place to audition in response to the call launched by the Mazatlán Culture Institute, organizer of the biggest party.

Inside, on Thursday, qualifiers gave the instructions, and highlighted that they were looking for the best dancers who transmitted joy, charisma and passion, since on top of the floats they are the center of attention of thousands of people during the great parades to be held on Sunday, February 11th and Tuesday, February 13th.

Teenager Diana Caro commented that she felt excited, because it was not her first audition for a float crew member, only this time she saw more potential in the other candidates, so she had to go the extra mile to seek to be chosen.

“I felt good, I have paraded three times at Carnaval, two of them on a float. I saw a lot of talent, they are all very talented, the level they bring is tough, but I hope to stay and conquer the judges,” she exclaimed.

Abris Tiznado, Director of Public Relations of the Instituto de Cultura, commented that this audition was satisfactory, and with what was evaluated they will have the right people to make up the crew and she thanked each of the people who attended.

“We were seeing the charisma, the joy and everything we want them to convey in the floats. There were approximately 140 participants and we want them to spread joy in the floats that will parade,” she indicated.

On December 1st, they will announce the results to those who were selected, this will be via telephone, and they will tell them what the next step is to become part of the Carnaval crew.

Carnaval Internacional de Mazatlán 2024 “Baroque Eclipse” will take place from Thursday, February 8th to Tuesday, February 13th, 2024, and one of its main attractions are the magnificent parades of floats along the coastal promenade.
