Come take your photo with Santa Claus this December 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th

The light of faith waiting for peace and love to reign in all families was lit last Friday night in Plazuela Machado to welcome the Christmas holidays.

The bright Christmas decorations installed by the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán include a photo booth so that families can take photos with Santa Claus on December 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. This decoration can be enjoyed until next January 8th.

Representing the Municipal President of Mazatlán, María Teresa Apodaca Muñoz, President of the municipal DIF System, activated the switch to allow the passage of the electric current that will power the Christmas lighting in the heart of Centro Historico.

Before hundreds of people, attracted by the magic of Christmas, the wife of the Mayor of the Port addressed a brief message in which she emphasized the work of the present municipal administration “to be able to improve our facilities, our buildings and our wonderful beaches” and fulfill the wish “to see Mazatlán beautiful.”

It is a pleasure to be here on such a special day because as a family we enjoy (the Christmas holidays) where hope and excitement reign, she exclaimed.

After greeting the royal court of the current Carnaval Mazatlán and those who aspire to win the crowns of the next edition of the greatest festival, the President of the DIF Mazatlán wished the candidates that in the coming festivities they can show off their beauty and may love and unity reign in their families and in the homes of all the inhabitants of the port.

With a lit candle in hand as a sign of faith and hope, the public was able to enjoy the Machado adorned with angel wings and a halo, trees with hundreds of LED lights that turn on and off, luminous stars, a representation of the birth of Jesus at the portal of Bethlehem, and a lit arch that welcomes passersby.

To further delight the families who witnessed this event, the Guillermo Sarabia Choir, made up of voices trained in bel canto under the direction of maestro Enrique Patrón de Rueda, delighted with classic Christmas songs such as “El Niño del Tambor,” “ First Noel”, “Oh Holy Night”, “Blanca Navidad”, “Silent Night” and “Adeste fideles”, all performed with the accompaniment of maestro Pablo López Mejía on the piano.

The event was chaired by Alejandra Tirado, Queen of the Mazatlán International Carnaval 2023; Uma Ramírez, Queen of the Floral Games; Víctor Quiroz, King of the Carnaval; Melanie Alarcón, Children’s Queen and Ivanna Arámburo, Queen of Poetry.
