The Instituto Munucipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán continued this Tuesday with the installation of an impressive urban sculpture entitled “100 years of writing” on the boardwalk at the intersection with Av. Insurgentes. The work is a tribute to the Centennial of the Floral Games and is the result of the collaboration between the Cuban fine artist Henri Wilson Albuernes and painter and sculptor from Monterrey, Jorge González Rodríguez.

The sculpture represents a muse in medieval attire, surrounded by sunflowers and topped with the 100 years of the floral games, with a scroll, reading a poem, said its creator, Jorge González.

The painter and sculptor from Monterrey was in charge of materializing the work and emphasized that “this design is by Henry Wilson, with pleasure, it is a challenge, it turned out very nice.”

In addition, Jorge González Rodríguez spoke about his collaboration with Henri Wilson Albuernes.

“It is a very big brotherhood, a friendship that Henry Willson and I have, he was the creator of the design and I gave it form, it is a very nice friendship and we collaborated mutually, there we work together… we give each other observations with the intention of the results flowing in the art.”

Henri Wilson Albuernes is also the creator of three other puppets that are found in different locations of the coastal walk, such as “Pescador de Tesoros” on Av. Del Mar and Rotarismo, “Equilibrista Festivo” (Plazuela Machado) and “Arlequín en vuelo” (Valentino´s).
