Almost a month before the start of the Port’s biggest festival, staff from the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán works to guarantee the supply of electrical energy to the stages of Olas Altas and installs public bathrooms to serve those who celebrate the Carnaval Internacional Mazatlán 2024 next to the sea, from February 8th to 13th.

More than 20 people, including electricians, carpenters, plumbers and assistants from the CULTURA Operations area under the direction of Paúl Wong, install what is necessary for the booths andbathrooms to function, the latter will be located on Paseo del Centenario street in front of the primary school. “Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez”, on Ángel Flores Street, and in front of the Sánchez Taboada Glorieta.

Iran Ramírez Reyes, head of Operations at the Instituto de Cultura, indicated that they are making good progress, and next week they will continue with the installation of attractive Carnival statues on the boardwalk.

“We are 70 percent complete, we are on schedule.” In the next few days, two more bathrooms will be installed in Olas Altas, one at the height of Ángel Flores Street and the one at the shield, which is why the additional sidewalk was installed so that people can pass by there,” he said.

It is estimated that the work in the Olas Altas Carnaval area will conclude no later than Wednesday, January 10th, to continue with the installation of the manigotes.
