The students of the Guitar Workshop of the Municipal Center of the Arts performed an elegant and exquisite concert by performing beautiful pieces ranging from classical to rumba in the Guitar Recital held in the portico of the Ángela Peralta Theater.

The musicians were surrounded by friends, family and pedestrians who became the public, they were captivated by the harmonic sounds of this instrument, recognizing with applause each interpretation of the soloists as well as the ensembles during the event.

It was at 5:00 p.m. when Professor Luis Ornelas Páez welcomed those present, introducing one by one the soloists of the afternoon: Cristóbal Osuna Castellanos, Romeo Estrada Baños, Juan Antonio Osuna Sarabia and Ángel Iván Chávez Aranguré.

Osuna Castellanos, a student of Professor Luis Ángel García, opened the concert by performing
“Dos guitarras”, a popular Russian song that the audience liked. Baños Estrada had an outstanding participation by playing the piece “Estudio”.

Osuna Sarabia shone in his participation by performing “Gavotte”, from Suite #6, an iconic piece by Joan Sebastian Bach. To conclude, Chávez Aranguré came out to delight with another Bach piece, this being “Cantana #147”.

Directed by maestro Luis Ornelas, the Children’s Ensemble made up of Jimena Gómez Higuera, Paloma Alvarado Osuna, Agustín Juárez Castro and Manuel Sudea López, gave an excellent performance by playing classical guitar pieces that delighted the audience.
“El campesino alegre” (The Happy Peasant), “Marcha militar” (Military March), creations by Robert Shumann; “Agente secreto Bretaña” (British Secret Agent), by Patrice Durand; “A shot in the dark”, by Henry Mancini, and “Le Lion est mort ce soir” by Solomon Linda with arrangements by Patrice Durand, were heard during the performance of the Children’s Ensemble.
